The Apple brand originated as a record label in London. In 1981, a start
up computer company purchased the rights to use the same name.
That start up computer
company is now at the threshold of high-technology, producing all the
tools you need to create music, videos, and spreadsheets. Software and
hardware have never been so compatible and easy to use in the history
of technology.
So, now that Apple
has considerably good market share, why not come full circle and reinvent
the brand that started with music to begin with?
This is what Steve Jobs and his dedicated team planned less than a year
ago, keeping this project very secret and surprising the entire world
with an awesome idea that will definitely revolutionize the world of music.
"Music to your ears" was the name of the event scheduled for
today, April 28 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Being a music lover,
the name definitely tempted me. So I decided to go and share the new upcoming
Apple releases with the rest of us who are on the exciting track of creating
multimedia on the Mac platform.
As Steve Jobs announced a super "cool" distribution tool for
music built in the already well-known, but highly implemented iTunes 4
software, people were absolutely excited and astounded.
iTunes 4 allows you to browse, preview, buy and download music directly
into your Mac or in a very slick and newly designed iPod (your old one
will work too) that can store up to 7,500 songs in 30GB of space.
You can buy the entire album or just the track you want. And this of course,
is thanks to the amazing job done by the entire team at Apple that worked
very hard to obtain unlimited rights from the most popular record companies
out there!
The new iTunes Music Store features 200,000 great titles at $0.99 per
song, available to U.S. users only for now, as it will take some time
to implement the service worldwide.
This is another step forward that will allow musicians around the world
to go directly into their music library, thanks to Apple and iTunes, for
giving us the freedom to discover, choose and enjoy music from all over
the world.
